FILMS X JENI’S: The Parent Trap

Serving nostalgia since 1998.

With a movie that’s as much of a classic, childhood-staple as this one, it really needs no review; instead, I’d like to just recount some of the most iconic moments:

“…I know how to fence and you don’t? Or I have class and you don’t?”

The poker game into skinny dipping.

Hallie’s cabin prank.

“…sisters? We’re, like, twins!”

The ear piercing/haircut/learning to be each other montage.

Respectively meeting their parents for the first time.

The wedding dress with a top hat photoshoot.

Chessy finding out that it’s actually Annie.

The lizard going into Meredith Blake’s mouth.

The entire camping trip.

When their parents get remarried on the boat and recreate their picture.

And finally, the peanut butter and Oreos moment.

Would I watch it again? I never fail to.

Tear level: If you grew up on this movie then it may really pull some heartstrings.

Watch when: you’re having a girls night or need a good comfort movie.

Soundtrack/score: Alan Silvestri magic

The Jeni’s Pairing

While there are many possible combinations for this one, there is only one that is truly correct. Inspired by the iconic peanut butter and Oreos combination, we’re asking for a double scoop in a waffle cone with Cookies in Cream and Salted Peanut Butter with Chocolate Flecks. No explanation needed.

MORE ON THE FLAVORS:

Cookies in Cream is our nod to the classic ice cream parlor essential—as good as you remember, but better than it ever was. Deeply chocolaty, truffle-like cookies made using Fair Trade cocoa powder. Vanilla-scented cream with almost buttery flecks of white chocolate that perfectly mimic the creamy cookie center. Best eaten under a blanket fort with a flashlight.

Salted Peanut Butter with Chocolate Flecks (formerly known as The Buckeye State) is our loving tribute to Ohio and our signature candy [Buckeye candies]. We make it with fresh, salted roasted peanuts and chips of rich Belgian dark chocolate flecks. It’s total comfort for Buckeyes—and Buckeyes at heart.
