A Jeni’s Ice Creams Flavor Guide

Jeni’s is my second home in Nashville. I love it so much I wrote an essay on it. From the aroma of waffle cones upon opening the door to the cute little sample spoons and everything in between, it holds some sweet memories (pun not intended but appreciated). My friends and I have a special table we occupy there after our best and worst and most average days. It’s seen many a laugh and tear. In the event that you find yourself wanting to order from the best ice cream shop known to the U.S.A., I would like to provide you a reference of my favorites incase you have no idea where to start.

Frosé Sorbet

The flavor that stole its way into my heart. One day, you’re carefree, sampling every flavor available, changing it up, never tied down to just one; the next thing you know, you find yourself ordering one consistently each visit. The Frosé is that flavor for me. Perfectly light and sherbet-esque without being too sherbet (in my opinion), it is fruity and slightly tart and everything I need 365 days of the year. (Although I would highly recommend for a hot summer day.) *Bonus: dairy-free flavor

Lemon & Blueberries Parfait

This one here. She may make her way in and out of scoop shops, but it’s an honor she graces our presence at all. I’m simply partial to the fruity flavors of Jeni’s (which in my opinion is one of the big factors that distinguishes them from other ice cream companies), and Lemon & Blueberries Parfait is no let down. Plenty of tart lemon for all you lemon lovers, with a nice aesthetic blueberry swirl to break it up. Perfect for a spring afternoon or anytime you’re looking for a nice refreshing scoop.

Cognac with Gingerbread

What a little winter gem. It’s the closest I’ve gotten to having my soul warmed by ice cream on a chilly winter visit. It’s got the perfect little kick to it with that gingerbread spice to make me hear sleigh bells just around the corner. And in the event that you find yourself there on February 1 (National Ice Cream for Breakfast Day) & Jeni’s is serving coffee floats, I can tell you first hand that this makes a great combo. Or any other day, just get two scoops and pair it with Coffee with Cream & Sugar or Cold Brew with Coconut Cream (a dairy free!)

Honorable Mentions:

- Brandied Banana Brûlée

- Savannah Buttermint

- White Chocolate Peppermint

- Wildberry Lavender

Do not underestimate these honorable mentions; they are as cutthroat competitors as the first 3.

Let’s be honest - you can’t go wrong no matter which flavor you choose!

Also be on the lookout for seasonal flavors and limited editions, because they continue to be my favorites!!
